For Thursday Evening October 9
and Friday, October 10, 2008 Conference

Dear Friends,

Welcome! As we embark on our 36th year of building a community of learners we are excited to invite you to come share with us. Within these pages you will find many interesting offerings from a variety of presenters, local, national, and global. From the opening remarks of former Governor Walter Peterson, and our keynote address by Dr. Joia Mukherjee of Partners in Health, to workshops, to a tasty vegetarian lunch, through the World Café, and then the closing thoughts synthesized by the whole assembly, get ready to be stimulated and have fun.

After lunch we have set up a World Café for everyone. Sant Bani is built on the premise that we all have something to learn from everyone. Creating a format that allows small groups to engage in meaningful discussions while ensuring that each person has a chance to participate in two groups will allow for an abundance of lively exchanges. When you come, be prepared for lots of give and take as you take part in these “conversations in a changing world.”

Kent Bicknell, Ed.D. Principal, the Sant Bani School

Sant Bani School is hosting this conference to bring together a community of people who believe passionately in the power of ideas to change attitudes, lives, and ultimately the world. Moving our children toward a new education and preparing them for the transforming world has been our aim for over three decades. Many of you are similarly engaged in this essential work.
“Conversations in a Changing World” is an opportunity for people from varied backgrounds to share what they are doing through workshops and discussions. It is a time to be inspired by each other’s work as we are energized by imagining together.
