The Cape Cod Chamber Ensemble

Mozart in a letter to his father written in 1784 stated: " I composed two grand concertos and then a quintet, which called forth the greatest applause. I consider it the best work I have ever composed." This exceptional work (K.452) is presented along with Beethoven’s impressive answering composition (Op.10)

The featured performer is pianist Lucy Banner is a graduate of the Oberlin Conservatory and Ithaca College. She is well known to Cape Cod and New England concertgoers as an active chamber music player.

Bassoonist David Gallagher holds the principal chair in the Cape Symphony Orchestra and is a graduate of the Eastman School of Music and founder of the Cape Cod Chamber Ensemble.

Mary Cicconetti, oboe, earned her undergraduate degree at the Cincinnati College Conservatory of Music and her M.M. at the University of Missouri – Kansas City. She serves as principal oboe of the Plymouth Philharmonic and New Bedford Symphony and is a member of the Cape Symphony Orchestra.

George Sullivan, French horn, studied under Gunther Schuller and serves as principal horn for a number of New England’s most prestigious performing groups. He was a member of the New England Conservatory Ragtime Ensemble for 25 years, touring the world with this path breaking ensemble.

Clarinetist W. Henry Duckham studied at the New England Conservatory and has a background as orchestral and chamber music performer.
