Colleges

Technology has become an increasingly pervasive element of life, education, and the workplace, and has made connection with the larger world possible in ways that were never before available.

Our objective is to encourage and facilitate the responsible and informed use of technology tools, allowing students greater freedom of expression in their thoughts, study, and aspirations. By graduation, students will be comfortable using existing mainstream technologies, and have the confidence to evaluate new systems that can assist their academic pursuits and life interests.

Curriculum Notes

In the younger grades, the focus is on learning through selected educational interactive programs, the start of keyboarding skills, and the recognition of the computer as a research, writing, and communication tool.
Middle grade use of technology has been centered on keyboarding success, and the learning of word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation programs: tools that can be integrated into successful class work, research papers, and projects.

Each year a computer-based elective has been offered to High School students, giving flexible support to their interests. Students have had the opportunity to advance at their own pace through the introduction of a computer language, work with hardware purchase and computer assembly, and do in-depth work with more complex graphics, operating systems, networking, or web-based programming.
